This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the mamas who inspire us every day. At Mamas in Music, we believe that being a mama is more than just a role—it’s a life-changing journey that demands courage, love, and unwavering commitment.
We asked 16 mamas in our community:"What does being a mama mean to you?" Along with their answers, they shared photos with their children—capturing the love, strength, and everyday moments that make up their unique journeys.
These stories are a reminder of how motherhood is a force of its own, and how these women are making a lasting impact both at home and in the music industry. We’re honored to share their voices with you today.

-Tiff Randol
"Being a mom means everything to me; it's the most beautiful, humbling, and rewarding part of who I am, but can also be a scary thing too. I’m blessed to mother my amazing son Jahlil, who keeps me grounded, motivated, and full of love. I also carry my heavenly angel Ja’Dor in my heart every single day, he blessed me to become a mother in the first place. Being a mom means showing up with love, laughter, patience, and strength especially on the hard days. I love creating memories, embracing the chaos, and cherishing every moment, big or small."
-Aasha Lewis

"Showing her what really matters"
-Mary Leay

"Being a mama makes me feel complete"
- Sarah Shawcross
"It means joy. It means discipline. It means routine. It means tears. It means laughter. It means patience. It means change. It means sacrifice. It means pride. It means focus. It means drive. It means fun and so so much more. But most of all it means immense love and happiness, that I’m grateful to get to experience in this weird and wonderful journey we call life."
-Dawn Moss

"Being a mother to me means that I can be a natural nurturer to my little one and others around me. I am an incubator that has the capacity to create multiple possibilities of greatness for myself and others."
-Lyndera Pinder

"Being a mother is by far my greatest accomplishment, and proudest title. It’s hugs, snuggles, giggles, and tears. Being a mom means thinking outside of yourself and putting someone else first. It means someone in the world loves you unconditionally, for all of your life."
- Rachel Rodriquez
"After sitting and thinking about this question, I can say that being a mother means everything to me. I never had the best relationship with my mother, and when I was growing up, I always said I didn’t want to have kids for that reason. Now, my perspective has changed. Now I get the privilege of raising and supporting two magnificent young ladies. I get to witness them discover themselves and guide them if and when they need it. Becoming a mother has taught me how to better love and nurture myself and others, so for that, I am eternally grateful. "
-Shoni Alleyne

"Being a mama has given me so much love, strength and pride. This little guy is the coolest kid!"
-Fia Yana

"Just like my mum is to me, I want to make sure I am a place of safety for my daughter throughout her life as she navigates this world, a home for her and a place of no judgement and unconditional love."
-Jenny Plant
"Being a mom means learning to let go—again and again. Letting your kids fall a thousand times so they can learn to walk. Holding their hand through the hard parts so they can learn how to rise. It’s modeling that it’s never too late to chase a dream. Teaching them to believe in their potential, and that worthiness isn’t earned through hustle. Life is a continuous becoming. You’re never fully “there,” but you’re always right here—and this moment holds infinite possibility."
-Mēagan Sky

"Being a mama to me means seeing myself in a younger version and truly understanding what unconditional love is. Motherhood isn’t a walk in the park but it does keep you going even in the toughest of times."
-Czafari

"It's impossible to put into words how much being a mother means to me. It's the most profound, life-altering love I've ever experienced and I can't believe how lucky I am to get to be her mama."
-Claire London

"It means love and life! I get to see the value of my life in a different light when i look at my children, i get to love without judgement and conditions. It’s literally God’s confirmation of unconditional love."
-Lindsey Kaye

"Being a māmā means having 2 besties that love me so hard, challenge me to the maximum and give me a reason to keep evolving myself creatively. "
-Huia
