Cilla Raie is an independent R&B artist from London. Having received support from MTV, bbc1xtra, and Traceuk! Her EP ‘Reconnected’ peaked at #2 on the iTunes R&B/Soul UK albums chart. 2023 is set to see new ventures and a new single release. She’s also co-founder and host of the Badassmums podcast and is doing amazing things for mothers within the creative industries. We can’t wait to talk more to her soon, but shining a light on her today!

What's Your Greatest Joy about Being a Mother in the Music Industry?
“The biggest joy for me, is being an inspiration to other mothers. Mum's who may feel as though it's not possible to be a creative and still balance a career. Leading by example encourages other women to feel like it is possible, and there are many examples of great women out here managing it all well!”
Greatest Challenge?
“My greatest challenge at the moment has been dividing up time for more self care. I have places more importance on this matter because it allows me to be the best version of my self as an individual, a creative, and as a mother to my child. Let's look after ourselves more because we do so much.”
What Would You Like to See Change?
“I would like to see more safe spaces. For women in the industry who are mothers. More acknowledgement, understanding, and encouragement. Including more services for childcare and assistance with this within the music industry. Particularly because it is not your usual 9-5 role.”
